Usually by the time cats and dogs reach Southwest Metro Animal Rescue, they are faced with one last chance to find a home. These animals are abandoned, stray, abused, neglected or unwanted. As frustrating as this can be, we cannot prevent animals from being surrendered or abandoned or whatever the case may be, so we focus on the next best solution, finding them a new home for life through Pet Adoption.

Foster homes are needed to temporarily house our animals until a permanent home can be found through pet adoption. We do not operate a shelter building, and foster care is the only hope for these animals. We are always looking for good foster homes. Animals are often turned away due to lack of open foster homes. The more foster homes we have, the more animals we can help.

The rewards of foster care are many. You can watch these animals transform from being lonely and unwanted into loving, happy and grateful pets that are eventually adopted into wonderful loving homes. You are given the opportunity to share your love for animals and make the most of that last chance for many homeless pets.
